The COMET ORB is glad to invite you to a mini-seminar. This event is open and free of charge.

This short seminar is a single talk (~45 min) from Clément Courde and Julien Chabe, from Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur.

Because of the current health situation, it has been decided not to set a face-to-face seminar, but only a video-conference instead. The talk will be given in French.

Laser OCA

Abstract :

The end of the 1960s with the conquest of space and the invention of the laser, paved the way for the development of optical stations for the realization of laser links between Earth and space. This new instrument and the resulting observations contribute to numerous scientific applications in space geodesy, fundamental physics and telecommunications. The Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur & the CNRS with the support of the CNES hold a major place at the international level. During this conference, we will present the functioning and the components of a laser station before going into the scientific applications that result from it and the latest developments in progress.
